    Description

Presented is an incredibly rare find, and per our research, quite possibly the only example to surface for auction in the last 15 years, if ever. This original, vintage July 6, 1964 Film Bulletin magazine features The Beatles and A Hard Day's Night on the cover, and analyzes the potential of the film on page 16.
To understand the rarity of this is to understand the rarity of Film Bulletin magazine in general. Produced by Wax Publications out of Philadelphia, PA, this bi-weekly magazine served as a trade publication for the motion picture industry. As for circulation, per an ad on the back cover, it states that "Film Bulletin reaches the policy makers, the buyers, the bookers of over 12,000 of the most important theatres in US & Canada" and also "carries your message to the key executives of every theatre circuit in the US and Canada. Also, to over 500 leading financial houses dealing in motion picture securities and investments."
From what we've been able to research, most of these were more than likely discarded, because they are either not available for purchase or really difficult to find on the open market. This particular issue was 22 pages, includes "Pre-search" on "Of Human Bondage" with Kim Novak and also includes a full-color four-page spread ad for American International Pictures featuring 10 films: "Black Sabbath" (Boris Karloff), "The Masque of the Red Death" (Vincent Price), "Bikini Beach" (Frankie Avalon/Annette Funicello), "The Time Travelers" (Preston Foster), "Conquered City" (David Niven), "Operation War Head" (Sean Connery), "The Maid and the Martian" (Tommy Kirk/Annette Funicello), "Pajama Party", "Beach Blanket Bingo" (Avalon/Funicello), and "2165 AD When the Sleeper Wakes" (Vincent Price/Martha Hyer).
As for the condition, there are a few spine ticks but overall the book is very sharp and bright. It would be surprising if a nicer copy existed, especially given the age. With nothing to really compare it to, we decided to let the market decide what this magazine is worth. It will run for one week and will not be ended early in fairness to all interested parties. It will be shipped boxed to ensure safe delivery.
